Waterberg Valley Lodge is situated on a hill in a wide valley of the Waterberg massif. The accommodation offers a view over the green valley floor to the red mountain walls.The tent walls of the affordable Econo Chalets give the feeling of staying in nature; the false ceiling in the roof provides coolness. Each chalet has a brick bathroom and a small balcony.

Activities bookable:

  • Plateau Hike – morning, 2-3 hrs – Your guide will climb with you to the plateau of the Waterberg, explain the nature in the park and give you an insight into the daily life and culture of the Herero people who live in this area. Great view into the valley or over the plains of the Kalahari
  • “Honeymoon Sundowner” – afternoon, 2-3 hrs, also for non newlyweds, booking required – Enjoy your exclusive sundowner on Mount Olympus at the edge of the Kalahari. Your hiking guide will climb the plateau with you only in the afternoon.
  • Rhino Drive – afternoon, 2-3 hrs – round trip through the bush savannah at the foot of the Waterberg, where we almost always meet rhinos – up close. With a little luck you will also see game such as giraffe, oryx, eland, hartebeest, wildebeest and kudu.
  • Rhino Tracking – morning, 3-4 hrs, fitness is a must – On the road like the bushmen. With our tracker, you can track oryx or hartebeest, kudu or giraffe in our wildlife-rich nature reserve – or even meet rhino at eye level.
  • Nature Hiking Trails – 1 km – 5.3 km – Explore the valley of the nature reserve on your own, on marked trails with viewpoints. Display boards tell you stories about the spring, animals and events. In the “Botanical Garden” on the paths to the spring, small panels introduce you to trees and shrubs along the way.
