As the name suggests, this is the perfect place to see elephants. Addo Elephant National Park is also very conveniently located, being only about an hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth.
More than 500 African elephants live here, in South Africa’s third largest national park. It was founded in 1931 to save 11 elephants and is now also home to zebras, antelopes, lions, buffalos and rhinos.
Accommodation options range from luxury lodges to simpler camps. Although it is also close enough to make a day trip, there is simply too much to see in the park for a day trip.
