The Great Zimbabwe Ruins were built in the 11th century and are made entirely of stone, without mortar, and are one of the oldest ruins in southern Africa, making them a historic site. The Masvingo Ruins were declared a World Heritage Site in 1986. Visitors have the opportunity to explore this ancient city and learn about the people who lived there.
